Commerce’s Justin Antonipillai to Address IAPP Europe Data Protection Congress 2016

Washington, D.C. – Justin Antonipillai, Counselor to Secretary Penny Pritzker, with the Delegated Duties of Under Secretary for Economic Affairs, will speak at Europe Data Protection Congress 2016  hosted by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).  He and his counterparts from the European Union will be discussing new trends in privacy enforcement in Europe and globally.  They will draw a critical overview of new enforcement mechanisms and examine their implementation in Europe, the United States, and other parts of the world. 

Commerce’s Justin Antonipillai to Address Lisbon Web Summit

Washington, D.C. – Justin Antonipillai, Counselor to Secretary Penny Pritzker, with the Delegated Duties of Under Secretary for Economic Affairs, will speak at the Lisbon Web Summit. He will be announcing with his European Union (EU) counterpart, the creation of the first-ever joint US-EU open-source, open-data project, which promises to ease access to open economic data on both sides of the Atlantic for better visualization and regional analysis of the two economies.

Commerce Data Advisory Council Delivers Data Recommendations to Secretary Pritzker

Washington, D.C. – The Commerce Data Advisory Council (CDAC) will hold its fifth and final meeting of the Obama Administration on Friday, October 28th at the U.S. Department of Commerce. U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker will deliver the keynote address at the event and receive final recommendations from the Council.

EU-US Cooperation for Better Usability of Open Data

On both sides of the Atlantic, we are in regular dialogues. These are important, but what we also need is more collaboration and joint efforts. Collaboration brings scale, standards, and progress.
